Smart grid working group compiled guidelines for renewing the energy industry

In 2016, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment appointed a Smart grid working group made up of experts in energy markets. The group has now published its final report, which provides a vision for the smart grids of the future. The working group also presents concrete measures concerning how smart grids can promote the active participation of customers in the electricity market and thus contribute to maintaining security of supply.

Improvements in open data service usability

The usability of Fingrid’s open data service has been developed on the basis of user feedback. The service now allows users to upload Excel files and several datasets to the same file at one time. The content descriptions for the datasets have also been improved.

Datahub implementation in April 2021

Fingrid selected a system supplier for Datahub during the summer. The schedule for the project was clarified at the same time. According to the updated schedule, Datahub will be implemented in April 2021.

Hackathlon spurred new business

What happens when the hackathlon spirit takes over at Fingrid’s headquarters in Käpylä? This was the case in late November when seven teams competed in Fingrid’s first hackathlon. Several new services to benefit Fingrid and its stakeholders were developed over a two-day period. They will be piloted during the spring.

Software robotics handles routine work

The latest addition to Fingrid’s HR unit, a software robot called Tero Tiima, has been introduced to routine payroll administration tasks. This will provide the staff with more time for personal encounters. It also speeds up the payroll process and reduces the number of human errors.
